The American College, my alma mater, is where I did my B.Sc. degree in mathematics during the academic years 1960-1963. It was a remarkable 3-year journey that had a transformative effect on my life. The American College is one of the oldest and the most prestigious colleges in India. Founded by American Christian missionaries as a missionary school in 1841, it became a college in 1881. The first Founder-Principal was Rev. George T. Washburn. The College has a very rich, impressive history.

Mathematics building, my favourite one, where I took classes for three years as student (1960-1963) and taught as professor from 1965 until I retired from American College in 1985 (From 1978 until 1985, I was on leave of absence doing my Ph.D. and post-doctoral work at George Washington University, Washington, D.C.).
Final year B.Sc. mathematics major students with professors and Principal Savarirayan (1962-1963). As secretary of the American College Mathematics Association, I am seated (first from the right) along with professors and the principal.

(Left) I’m unsure but seems like a group photo of final year science students 1963. I am seated fifth from the right. (Right) I am not sure of this picture too. I would guess that it is a picture of all student representatives of the American College Mathematics Association for which I was the Secretary. Photographed with the mathematics department faculty and Principal Savarirayan 1963. I am seated fourth from the left.

(Right) I am not sure of the time frame as well as the context of this picture. It looks like it was taken with student Block Representatives, Prof. B. Gunaraj, Warden of Washburn Hall, and Principal M.A. Thangaraj. I was one of the Hall Superintendents, seated second from the right.
